Trauma & PTSD Counselling
Gently working through past experiences at your own pace
Experiences of trauma can have a lasting impact, often affecting how you feel, think, and relate to others long after the event has passed.
You may notice ongoing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulty trusting others, or a sense of feeling disconnected from yourself or your surroundings.
These responses are not a sign that something is wrong with you. They are often the mind and body’s way of trying to cope with experiences that may have felt overwhelming at the time.
In counselling, we take a careful and supportive approach to understanding these experiences.
There is no expectation to revisit anything before you are ready. The focus is on creating a safe and stable space where you can begin to make sense of what has happened, at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Through this process, you can begin to:
understand how past experiences are influencing your present
feel more grounded and in control of your emotional responses
reduce feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, or disconnection
rebuild a sense of safety within yourself
develop greater confidence in your ability to cope
Over time, this work can support a deeper sense of stability, connection, and wellbeing.
